Lynne McTaggart
Lynne McTaggart, a New York Times bestselling science journalist, has demonstrated numerous times that when a group focuses their collective intention, physical changes occur.
She has written many books and articles with leading scientists around the world who have proven with modern equipment that when a group of people focus on a specific outcome at the same time, there are measurable PHYSICAL changes!
Physical Changes
Her books scientifically document that focused visualization produces measurable physical changes! Her books include:
The Field: The Quest for the Secret Force of the Universe
The Intention Experiment: Using Your Thoughts to Change Your Life and the World
The Power of Eight: Harnessing the Miraculous Energies of a Small Group to Heal Others, Your Life, and the World
The Bond: How to Fix Your Falling-Down World
YOUR TEAM OF LIGHT
Imagine an invisible constellation of luminous allies accompanying you on every step of your earthly journey. Within this radiant circle dwell departed loved ones, vigilant guardian angels, and exalted beings from the higher angelic realms.
Acting in perfect harmony, they envelop you in unconditional love, offer wise counsel, and strengthen your sense of belonging, guiding you through challenges and illuminating the road toward your highest destiny.
This “team of light” is nothing less than the living weave of divine love and cosmic intelligence that sustains the universe. It gathers all who cherish you on both sides of the veil, including enlightened masters, cherished teachers, and benevolent guides.
Your team of light includes those who love you on both sides of reality including your masters, teachers, and guides.
It is also the Higher Power you believe in such as God, Buddha, Muhammed Que Nhien, blessed mother nature.
The Transcendental Meditation “Washington, D.C. crime” experiment
Design
4 000 TM + TM-Sidhi practitioners gathered in Washington, D.C. 7 June – 30 July 1993. A 27-member review board pre-registered the prediction: ≥ 20 % drop in violent crime (homicide, rape, assault) while the group meditated twice daily.
Analysis
FBI-style weekly crime data were modeled with time-series regression controlling for temperature, daylight hours, seasonal cycles and policing levels.
Headline outcomes
At peak assembly size the model showed a 23.3 % reduction in violent crime (p < 2 × 10⁻⁹). A combined model (robbery + HRA crimes) gave a 15.6 % overall decrease; authors projected a 48 % long-term drop if such a group were permanent.
How McTaggart uses it
In The Field and especially The Intention Experiment, she frames the TM study as proof of a “collective-consciousness coherence” effect, arguing that mass intention can measurably influence societal indicators—an evidential stepping-stone for her own global peace experiments.
Critiques & caveats
Statisticians have questioned causal inference (weather, policing tactics, regression modeling choices). The study hasn’t been replicated at the same scale with fully independent teams. McTaggart reports the original numbers but rarely foregrounds these methodological debates.
